🚨 TRASH COLLECTION & WINTER STORM NOTICE 🚨
There will be NO trash pickup on Monday, January 26, due to a landfill closure and predicted snowfall.
Please expect delays with trash pickup for the remainder of the week.
🛣️ Road Conditions & Public Works Update
Public Works crews will be working to make roads passable, not necessarily completely clear.
Crews will focus first on hills and intersections.
Please use extreme caution and travel only when necessary.
❄️ Important Winter Reminder
Road salt is significantly less effective when temperatures fall below 15–20°F.

We kindly ask for your assistance with the following:
Use off-street parking if available
Do not shovel snow into the streets
Remove snow from fire hydrants and the area in front of your home
Check on neighbors, especially the elderly or disabled
Be mindful of pets during extreme cold
Southwest Greensburg Borough will do our best to keep up with the storm and appreciates your patience and cooperation.

Safe, convenient disposal for household hazardous materials
Residents can properly dispose of household hazardous waste at a regularly scheduled collection site. Fees apply based on weight, and payment must be made by credit or debit card.

1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month
Collection services are provided by Noble Environmental.

$0.80 per pound
Credit or debit card only (no cash or checks accepted)

Junior Council Person Program
Junior Council Person Program
The Southwest Greensburg Borough Junior Council Person (JCP) program was established for high school and college students residing in Southwest Greensburg Borough to gain hands on experience in local government. Our JCP program allows high school and college student the opportunity to learn critical thinking skills including team building and collaboration, public speaking, public engagement, budgeting, and running effective meetings. It also allows the student the opportunity to deliberate on issues that are affecting his or her community. This program is dedicated to sparking a passion for community service, providing a foundation for future government leaders, or those who seek a career in public service.
This program is run by Council President Miles Webb III. Interested students can find an application on the FORMS page of this website.

Registration is voluntary and there is no cost associated with registration. Registering your information does not provide SWGPD with direct access to your camera. You may delete your registration at any time. Your information will be accessed by law enforcement personnel who are investigating a crime in the vicinity of where your camera is located. You will only be contacted by the Southwest Greensburg Police Department in the future if there is a criminal incident in the vicinity of your security camera. Police personnel, if necessary, may request a copy of any video captured by your camera, which may assist in the investigation of a crime.

6.12 CURFEW FOR MINORS
It shall be unlawful for any person 17 or less years of age (under 18) to be or remain in or upon the streets within the Borough of Southwest Greensburg at night during the period ending at 6 a.m. and beginning:
A. At 10 p.m. for minors 11 or less years of age;
B. At 10:30 p.m. for minors 12 or 13 years of age; and
C. At 11 p.m. for minors 14 or more years of age.
