Mystery of the Misplaced School Supplies

SOUTHWEST GREENSBURG FAMILIES: It is time for more family fun with our new activity "The Mystery of the Misplaced School Supplies"! I know the kids may not be ready for back to school but the Southwest Greensburg Civic Society is hoping to help them get ready.

Print the flyer, or look for one to be delivered to your home, then get out into the neighborhood and find the images of handy back to school items. List the items you find on the back of the flyer, fill out the requested information on the front, then drop it into the mail slot at 424 Brandon St. (Mail slot to the left of the door)

***Hints: There are NO images on Stanton, Westminster, Sidney and streets with hills or no sidewalks.

Places you MIGHT find images include Red Devil, Parkwood, Baldy's and maybe even the school***

Enjoy your walk around the neighborhood and make sure to say Hello and make new friends in the process. You have until August 26th to complete this activity.

Fireworks

Southwest Greensburg Borough follows state law for consumer fireworks:

"72 P.S. § 9404 Use of consumer fireworks. (a) Conditions.--A person who is at least 18 years of age and meets the requirements of this article may purchase, possess and use consumer fireworks. (b) Prohibitions.--A person may not intentionally ignite or discharge: (1) Consumer fireworks on public or private property without the express permission of the owner. (2) Consumer fireworks or sparkling devices within, or throw consumer fireworks or sparkling devices from, a motor vehicle or building. (3) Consumer fireworks or sparkling devices into or at a motor vehicle or building or at another person. (4) Consumer fireworks or sparkling devices while the person is under the influence of alcohol, a controlled substance or another drug. The State Police Website (link below) indicates an "occupied structure" is a building able to be occupied and it doesn't matter "whether or not a person is actually present."
