At their May 24, 2017 special Council meeting, Southwest Greensburg Borough Council appointed Carol Palcic to fill the vacant Council seat of William Young.  Carol's term will run through January 1, 2018. There will also be a two year Council position on the November ballot this year for the remaining two years of William Young's Council term.

Southwest Greensburg Borough wants to thank the three other Borough residents that applied for the vacant Council position.  We appreciate their willingness to serve our community.  We also want to say that we have so many fond memories of Bill Young and his tenure on Borough Council.  Sadly, Bill passed away on April 27th this year.

Carol Palcic and her husband David have lived in Southwest Greensburg for the past 23 years where they have raised their two children.  Carol has worked for the past 18 years in Community Relations at Adelphoi Village.  Carol has also been active with the Westmoreland County Food Bank, Greensburg Turkey Trot, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Laurel Region, Our Lady of Grace Church and Greensburg Central Catholic High School.

Southwest Greensburg Borough welcomes Carol as a Council member and look forward to working with her to continue our efforts to make Southwest Greensburg a wonderful place to live and raise a family.
